New Beginnings Missionary Baptist Church

Church History

In the year of two thousand and two (2002) twenty members of Gethsemane Baptist Church decided to start a new church family. We voted for the name New Beginnings, was chosen by a majority of votes. After choosing a name, we needed a place to worship; a building at 4604 Monroe Road became our first church home.

Reverend Larry Wilson was our first Pastor. The first service was on August 3, 2002. There were forty members in attendance and we collected $398.00 for the first offering and tithes.

The church remained at its first home for two years. In 2004, we moved to a new place of worship, the Sleep Inn Hotel and stayed there for one year and a half. God had a plan. In 2005, there was a list, in which the church started interceding in prayer for people, who were in hardship or experiencing problems with their husbands, wives, and children. A list of 1000 was completed in a year. For being obedient in the eyes of God, He gave us a new church home. We had our first service in our new home in July 2006. Reverend Wilson was still our Pastor, but after two years he decided to move on for personal reasons.

We are moving up Zion hill, and continuing to do the Lords work. Our mission is to save souls through our works of the surrounding communities.
